I don’t normally crochet gifts for people, because of all the time and consideration that go into making a project from yarn. But Jess is one of the best friends I’ve ever had, so when I got the idea for this hooded orange cowl, I ran with it. It started with the amazing Ferris Wheel yarn from Lion Brand. I wanted to make a hooded scarf, but it ended up being a cowl instead. I made up the pattern on-the-go, so there was a lot of frogging (pulling out previous work). I added a trim with a solid orange yarn because I had frogged the trim so many times that the yarn got messed up. And so, the gift ended up arriving in March instead of October. But my bff loved it anyway, and I’m grateful that I had the chance to crochet something special for someone else <3
